Tres Tombs Festival in Igualada
The Romans claimed that the act of making cattle walk three laps around the perimeter of a temple had curative powers. In Igualada, this festival still takes place.
Carts and carriages carrying firewood, straw or milk, fireman’s carts, dustman’s carts or even hearses… If you’d like to see this wide variety of old-fashioned carriages, make sure you don't miss the Tres Tombs (Three Laps) Festival in Igualada, capital city of the Anoia region, where the Muleteers’ Guild organises one of the largest parades. One of the unique characteristics of this parade is the accompanying music of the Patera, one of the city’s traditional dances. Make sure you get there nice and early to secure a good spot!
