Catalan Modernist Days of La Garriga
Once again, La Garriga is putting on its turn-of-the-20th-century finery to stage the Catalan Modernist Days.
A programme of fun, cultural events offering a critical gaze on the phenomenon of estiueig (the bourgeois summer residence tradition dating from around the turn of the 20th century), the Catalan Modernist movement and what this heritage has meant for La Garriga and Catalonia as a whole.
The Catalan Modernist Days look at the architects who left their mark on La Garriga, along with some other key characters, examining the impact of this movement on the townspeople in general and the working class in particular.
The weekend’s programme includes guided tours, talks and dramatised readings, among other educational activities.
